FAQ aka "Pay attention folks!"
Something with a layout isn't working right!
Make sure you followed each step listed. After that, check to see if I've updated the code since you copied it from its post. If not, leave a comment on the layout's specific post describing the issue.
Do you want credit?
It would be appreciated, especially for codes. Don't remove the credit from the layout CSS itself, at least, and never claim the codes or icons are yours.
May I edit your codes if I don't like something?
Yes. If you think something works in principle but is fugly in execution, do what you want.
May I repost your codes, edited or otherwise, on my blog, in a community, or on another site? Even if I credit you?
No.
May I use your codes that haven't been posted here, but are being used by your personal or roleplay accounts?
Do you know how buggy my codes are? :| No. Those are either just for me or still incomplete and making me pull my hair out.
May I edit your icons?
Only if I've already said so. If you want to edit them for something, ask me first. If it's something small like making a character blush or changing the eye color, then go for it. If it's an entire recolor or extensive editing, talk to me.
May I use them on tumblr or another site?
Yes, but I reserve the right to tell someone to stop using them for whatever reason. Sometimes, there are fandom things that I simply do not wish associated with myself in any way. By extension, do not repost them in one big massive "icon sharing" post on tumblr or elsewhere.
May I use the icons on your personal account or roleplay accounts?
I'd prefer not. Definitely no to the icons of my artwork and the fan art icons I've gotten permission from the artists to use. One of the terms of use was that they'd be for myself and myself only. Ask them if you want to use their art for an icon. As for my own artwork, hands off.
Will crediting you let me do things you just said not to do?
No. Credit ≠ permission. Ever. EVER. As an artist who's had their work (paintings) frequently misused, I cannot stress this enough. "Not mine", "I don't own", "credit to owners" is not a free pass to do whatever you want.
Why won't you code for parts of the sidebar or archive pages or etc.?
Because I don't use them. Most sidebar modules and some features seem useless and redundant to me, therefore I don't bother with them.
